Well my friends and well-wishers, I'm afraid that, do to a long list of unfortunate, unforeseen, undesirable, unsettling, unceremonious - alright I'm done - circumstances, Krunal and I had to cancel our planned Smash Brothers: Melee tournament. We had a good thing going, but we've had some difficult finding keeping in touch with our host. Also, we were never able to devise a way to sell tickets on campus without Krunal or I actually being in Anaheim. So, it is with great disappointment, sadness, and whatnot that Krunal and I have resigned to cancel the Smash Brothers: Melee tournament.

We might give it a shot again some other time, but, for now, the CGC Smash Brothers: Melee Tournament is off the books, I'm afraid.

Also, if any of my four sponsors are reading this, do not be alarmed, I'll send you a refund.

The Anaheim Smash Brother Tournament

Presently, my associates and I are planning to hold a tournament involving the game Super Smash Brothers: Melee. We are planning to house and hold this tournament on July 8th, 2007, at the Fairmont Preparatory Academy (2200 W. Sequoia, Anaheim, CA, USA).

The tournament games are intended to be fun to play in and to watch. In order to maximize unpredictability and make participants fight in as many different situations as possible, the items will be set on 'medium,' and the levels will be selected at random. No items will be excluded. All of the game's levels will be available. All of the game's characters will be available, and participants are not required to use the same character every time. Each match will last five minutes, and the winner (the one who get's the most KOs) of each match will advance. We will continue with as many rounds of 4-player matches as needed.

This will continue until only eight participants remain, after which we will move to 2-player versus matches. The same rules apply for these matches. This will continue until only 2 participants remain.

Once only 2 participants remain, the final match will begin. Unlike the previous events, the level will not be chosen at random. Instead, the two players much decide unanimously which level they want to fight at (or they can opt to have it be randomly selected again if they wish). Otherwise, same rules apply. Winner of the final match takes home the prize money (and there will also be prizes for second and third place).

Send us your input!

We are very curious as to how many people would be interested in such a tournament. This primary purpose of this website is not only to make people aware that we are planning this, but to ask anyone who is interested to contact us and tell us how interested they might be. If you have any questions, want to participate, or are at all interested in the tournament, please contact us and let us know.

Participants are also welcome to reserve tickets online, and anyone who is interested in becoming a sponsor is welcome to contact us as well.

Order now, save $3 on tickets!

Tickets will be sold at the door for $15 (or $5 if you just want to sit and watch). However, if you order tickets early online (using the buttons below, and/or contacting us), you can save $3 per participation ticket. Which we warmly recommend you do. It saves you money, and it helps us get an idea of how many people will be coming. Everybody wins! ...Except, evidently, Reyoga. Girl-Ranma is walking all over him in this episode...
